These are fantastic needles to have for working on light fabrics such as poplin, voile or chiffon, and medium fabrics such as linen, twill or crepe. any embroidery kit !
Similar to "long" needles, however, hand embroidery needles are longer. Indeed, these long-eye needles make it easy to pass the embroidery thread inside, the latter being thicker than the standard thread. This big eye makes it possible to thread the cotton embroidery yarn (or yarns) through, which is thicker than a conventional sewing yarn. The embroidery yarn is shinier and will give a relief aspect to your work.
They exist in different sizes (from 1 to 12).
To know the size of a needle, look at the number indicated. The higher this number, the smaller and thinner the needle and the more suitable it will be for fine fabrics.
To give you a point of reference, I sew my small Moppet dolls every day and mostly use No8 or No7 needles.
