These are fantastic needles to have for working on any sewing project ! They work well with ordinary sewing of light and medium materials. They were designed to make large stitches, for hats or to make pleats

"MODE" - "STRAW MILLINERS" type - These versatile needles are the most used for hand sewing by seasoned seamstress. Their eye is round, their tip pointed and their long length. They exist in different sizes (from 1 to 10).

To know the size of a needle, look at the number indicated. The higher this number, the smaller and thinner the needle and the more suitable it will be for fine fabrics.

To give you a point of reference, I sew my small Moppet dolls every day and mostly use No8 or No7 needles. I use to sew with "Mode" needles because they are longer and more confortable for the fingers. To make them a bit more comfortable I like to twist them a bit and they never break
